Camping in the Central Kalahari

Matswere is the access point for the underdeveloped campsites around the desolation valley, Sunday Pan, Leopard Pan and Passarge Valley.  The campsites at Piper Pan can be accessed from either Matswere or Xare.  New campsites along the Passarge Valley offer rewarding game viewing.   Along the Piper Pan, on deception road there is a new Tao Campsite.  As the camping sites are undeveloped, there is no running water or ablutions.

Guests must dig a hole to go to the toilet and leave no trace of being there.  Firewood must be collected in the forests. This offers a truly “African experience” of being in the wild.
